Cangur Contest

Individual and in-person competition, aimed at getting students to participate and spend some time having fun solving the challenges. Problems based on reasoning and ingenuity rather than mathematical knowledge.

Activity aimed at students from 5th grade of primary school to post-compulsory secondary education, with a different test for each school level.

Olympiad
of Mathematics

Catalan phase of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), organized here by the Catalan Mathematical Society (SCM). A single Catalan phase is called, allowing participation on the same day in Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida, and Girona.

KANGAROO

In-person competition for solving math problems in school teams. It includes a first phase at different venues distributed throughout the territory, and a final phase with the winners from each venue.

CATALAN FEMALE MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD

Activity aimed at girls in secondary and high school, proposing mathematical activities for discovery, growth, and improvement.

Individual online test aimed at students of various educational levels, up to high school, testing their speed and ingenuity.

BEBRAS OLYMPIAD

Competition that proposes computational thinking challenges for primary, secondary, and high school students, without requiring prior programming knowledge.

We announce that various reasons have advised against continuing the call for online competitions whose fundamental evaluation element was the detailed reasoned response to some problems.

Story competition

Competition aimed at students in 3rd or 4th year of secondary school, vocational training cycles, or high school. The theme of the stories submitted must be related to the world of mathematics and must be written in the language of the lands where people say «Good morning!».

Poster competition

To choose the design that identifies the SCM Kangaroo test, a competition is held every three years among students in 3rd and 4th year of secondary school and post-compulsory secondary education.
