The Math Time Trial It is an individual online problem-solving competition aimed mainly at students from the last years of primary school to high school. Born in 2017 on the initiative of Víctor López, the Catalan Society of Mathematics currently promotes its organization to offer a new opportunity for boys and girls who enjoy thinking, reasoning, and solving mathematical challenges.

A challenge of agility and ingenuity

The goal of the test is not to apply advanced knowledge or perform complicated calculations, but to test’mental agility, the reasoning ability and’ingenuity when faced with problems of increasing difficulty. Each contest consists of fifteen multiple-choice questions that must be solved individually and within a limited time.

An activity open to everyone

The competition is organized into different educational levels, but students from other courses, teachers, and anyone interested can also participate through an open classification. In this way, the Contrarellotge becomes a meeting space for all people who enjoy solving mathematical problems.

Train and enjoy mathematics

In addition to the official tests, the platform allows access to previous editions and participation in a simulated manner. This makes it easier for participants to practice, improve their problem-solving strategies, and enjoy mathematics at their own pace.
