Teacher Training

The Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM) offers training aimed at non-university mathematics teachers, primarily through courses and conferences. Working groups are also organized.

The current training offer is designed based on an analysis of the situation of mathematics teaching and the needs expressed by teachers and management teams through consultations, meetings, and other activities. It is’basically structured around the following strategic axes.

Strengthening foundations and updating, together with a review of teaching practice.

  • Problem solving and attention to mathematical talent:
Tools, resources, and strategies to guide students according to their abilities and support teachers in their mathematical development.

  • Contextualized applications and interdisciplinarity:
Connection of mathematics with digital and programming tools, as well as current applications and contexts.

  • Curricular continuity and connection between stages:
Spaces for shared reflection between different school stages. Contributions from neuroscience and neuroeducation.
