Teaching Conferences

The Teaching Conference is the meeting point for mathematics teachers and professors from all educational stages, from early childhood to university, around a topic of debate of interest to mathematics education.

It is jointly organized by the Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM), the Federation of Mathematics Teaching Entities of Catalonia (FEEMCAT), the Balearic Society of Mathematics (SBM Xeix) and the Educational Mathematics Society of the Valencian Community Al-khwarizmi (SEMCV Al-khwarizmi), held annually, at the beginning of autumn.

The SCM and FEEMCAT jointly convened the first conference in 2004. In 2008, SBM-XEIX joined, and in 2011, the Al-Khwarizmi Mathematics Education Society. Until 2015, all conferences were held at the IEC headquarters. From 2016, a rotating schedule was established among the four organizing entities.

The Maria Antònia Canals awards (MAC awards) are also presented at the Mathematics Teaching Conference.

The next one will be the 20th Joint Conference on Mathematics Teaching, organized by the four societies, with additional collaboration from the Garraf Mathematics Education Society (SEMG).

Location: Polytechnic School of Engineering of Vilanova i la Geltrú (EPSEVG)
Title:  Building bridges between stages
S‘It will reflect on the transition between stages and the coherence of mathematical learning trajectories. Updates on the activity can be followed on the social media accounts and websites of the organizing entities. This edition, in particular, is locally organized by FEEMCAT.
