12 May Women in Mathematics
May 12 is the international day of women in mathematics.
The Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM), committed to the development of mathematics at all levels, has been promoting events and conferences for years to make women in mathematics visible, highlighting Catalan women mathematicians.
It is a member of the European Women in Mathematics Association (EWM) and since 2020 has been promoting activities to celebrate May 12. In 2020, coinciding with the pandemic, the SCM board, led by Dolors Herbera, organized a screening of the documentary Secrets of the surface and a round table.
