Registration open for the SCM 2026 Summer School

The Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM) has opened registrations for the’SCM Summer School 2026, a training proposal aimed at non-university teaching staff that will take place during the first weeks of July.

The training offer responds to the SCM's strategic axes of teacher training and arises from needs detected through continuous work with the educational community. The goal is to contribute to improving mathematics teaching and offer quality training spaces for teachers.

Registration form

Free, recognized, and accessible courses

This year's edition incorporates several new features. The courses are short and combinable with each other, allowing training to be adapted to each teacher's interests and availability.

Additionally, in 2026, the offer is expanded with online courses, facilitating access for teachers from all over the territory.

All activities are recognized for certification of hours by the Department of Education and Vocational Training (DEFP) and will be free for all active teachers, whether or not they are SCM members.

The organization warns that places are filling up very quickly and recommends formalizing registration as soon as possible.

Problem solving and attention to mathematical talent

This axis continues the line of work developed in previous editions and expands the offer due to the high demand recorded.

The program includes two complementary problem-solving courses, one in-person and one online, as well as a specific group work session to deepen strategies and problem-solving methodologies.

Deepening mathematical understanding

The second training line is aimed at reinforcing teachers' mathematical knowledge and promoting a deeper understanding of concepts.

It offers in-depth courses on probability, statistics, functions, and integration, especially designed for teachers who want to update their knowledge, resolve doubts, or consolidate fundamental mathematical content.

A consolidated commitment to teacher training

After the success of the first SCM Summer School held in 2025, which brought together teachers from different educational stages in courses on mathematical understanding, problem solving, and applications of mathematics with Python, the SCM consolidates this initiative as a reference space for mathematical teacher training.

This offer is complemented by other training actions promoted by the Catalan Society of Mathematics, such as the Postgraduate Degree in Deepening Mathematics for Mathematics Teachers, developed by a transversal and interuniversity working group.
