Interuniversity TFM Conference Day

The 1st TFM Conference was a success!

The young protagonists were excellent speakers, and they passionately and enthusiastically explained their master's thesis projects.

The conference began with an explanation by the president, Montserrat Alsina, and the vice president, Josep Vives, of the origin and motivation of the initiative, inviting the young people to enjoy it and actively collaborate in this edition as well as in future ones. Next, the call for the SCM's Sant Jordi 2024 awards was recalled, specifically the Évariste Galois Prize and the Emmy Noether Prize, which were of interest to the speakers presenting their TFM and to master's students who had recently defended their TFG, respectively.

The publication Reports@SCM, where the winning works of the awards are published, was also presented. The editor-in-chief, Xavier Bardina, invited the young people to submit articles and explained the review and acceptance process, which follows standard parameters.

The young people whoreceived the Galois 2023 award were the invited speakers, some of them online, as they are at foreign universities.

The remaining presentations were given by awardees who had recently defended their TFM, and the audience was able to enjoy well-crafted and well-explained presentations.

The conversation generated among the young people was one of the most interesting parts of the conference. Current students of the master's programs at UB and UPC shared experiences among themselves and questions and doubts with graduates from the previous year, who explained how they were progressing with their research. Graduates of the master's program from the Valencian universities UV and UPV also participated in the conference.

You will find details of the organization, the program, and the summaries of the presentations at conference website.

The extended summaries of the presented talks will be published in the journal Reports@SCM.
