Last March 20, 2025, the city of Manresa was a great success with the Kangaroo Tests 2025 Manresa, within the framework of the 30th edition of this international mathematics competition. The event, organized by the Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM), was held at the facilities of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Manresa, where more than 200 first and second year high school students put their problem-solving skills to the test.
Registrations for the School of History of Mathematics 2025 are now open Kangaroo Tests 2025 Manresa are celebrating this year 25 years of continuous presence on the Manresa campus, making it one of the pioneering university venues for this event. During the test, students had’one hour and fifteen minutes to solve about thirty mathematical challenges of progressive difficulty, with a scoring system that rewarded correct answers and penalized errors, thus encouraging critical thinking and precision.

At the Catalan level, nearly 110,000 students participated in this edition of the Kangaroo Tests, which are held every year on third Thursday of March. The objective is twofold: to foster interest in mathematics and to promote STEM vocations (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) among young people.
The president of the SCM, from Manresa Montserrat Alsina, highlighted the commitment of teachers and the need to continue providing them with resources to keep motivating students. In her words, “without motivated teachers, there is no future for scientific vocations.”.
On a global scale, the Kangaroo Tests bring together more than six million students, with problems developed at international meetings; this year, the statements were designed in Brazil, ensuring a global and enriching approach.
