Catalan mathematics become more visible

Among the many initiatives to make mathematics more visible, we highlight that today four more Catalan women have joined the Casio educational division's Women in Science collection. A good contribution to extend #DiaInternacionalDonesMatemàtiques throughout the year and to school audiences!

They are the mathematicians: Griselda Pascual, Pilar Bayer, Eva Miranda and Maria Bras-Amorós. Maria Antònia Canals was already part of the collection.
You can see their profiles and download the posters on the website https://www.cientificascasio.com/
. We hope to collaborate to have the Catalan version.

  • Griselda Pascual
«The mathematics we teach must be useful for everyone, and useful does not mean using them for practical life, but rather making the most of them!»
  • Pilar Bayer
«If everything could be mathematized, life would be much simpler.».
  • Eva Miranda
«Mathematics is very creative. Many times, thinking and writing a proof of a theorem is like creating a poem.».
  • Maria Bras-Amorós
«Mathematics is a game: it goes beyond calculations and arithmetic, it has an aesthetic aspect and at the same time is a very useful tool.».
  • Maria Antònia Canals
«Teachers must be happy doing mathematics, so that students will be too.».
