After the Catalan Mathematical Olympiad, held last December, the nine prize-winners took part on the 10th and 11th of this month in León in the 59th Spanish Mathematical Olympiad, organised by the RSME.
The Catalans obtained 6 medals there:
Gold medals:
- Roger Lidón Ardanuy (Ins Jaume Vicens Vives, Girona, 2nd year of baccalaureate)
- Ruben Carpenter (Aula Escola Europea, Barcelona, 2nd year of baccalaureate)
- Jordi Ferré García (Aula Escola Europea, Barcelona, 2nd year of baccalaureate)
- Xavier Díaz Austrich (Ins Jaume Vicens Vives, Girona, 2nd year of high school)
Silver medal:
- Timothy Skipper (Institut Mediterrànea, Castelldefels, 2nd year of high school)
Bronze medal:
- Alèxia Escudero Ribó (Institut Hug Roger III, Sort, 2nd year of high school)
Remarks
- The Catalan contestants who won gold medals placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th, respectively.
- Roger Lidón and Ruben Carpenter have won a gold medal at the Spanish Olympiad for the third year running. Jordi Ferré also won a gold medal in 2022. All three were selected to take part in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
- Alèxia Escudero also won a medal in 2022.

In accordance with the results in León, the team that will take part in the 64th International Mathematical Olympiad, which will be held in Chiba (Japan) next July, will consist of four students from Catalonia and two from the Valencian Country:
