Kangaroo Contest 2026 – Prizes

Table of contents

As announced in the official contest call, the 15 participants with the highest scores in each level (and in four levels, some more due to ties for 15th place) constitute the list of prize winners in Kangaroo 2026. When applicable, the set of contestants with the same score is presented in random order.

In each level, among the 15 prizes, 3 prizes are awarded are awarded, who receive a Kangaroo prize medal (gold, silver, and bronze, also considering the ties that have been observed). You can see all the details by clicking on the boxes below.

The solemn prize-giving ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the Teatre Casino de l’Aliança, in Poble Nou, Barcelona. We believe it was a very successful event, with a performance by retired teacher Jaume Andrés, featuring mathematical magic exercises.

In addition to a four-panel document in A3 format, which includes the complete list of distinctions given during the event, each awardee received an honorary diploma, a publication on the 31st edition of the Kangaroo contest, a board game (REVERSO) with mathematical ideas (discussed in the previous publication), and an invitation to the Campus-Kangaroo organized by the SCM eXplorium – STEM Leisure Association  (see https://explorium.cat/campus-cangur)

SILVER PINS

SILVER PINS

The Catalan Society of Mathematics created in 1998 the  Kangaroo Silver Pin, as an honorary distinction and, fundamentally, as a recognition for students who have had outstanding overall participations, especially in the highest levels of the test.

This distinction took into account the three parallel Kangaroo organizations supported by the Catalan Society of Mathematics, in Catalonia, the Valencian Country, and the Balearic Islands. Currently, the SCM is studying with the respective Kangaroo committees the appropriate silver pins to award this year 2026.
