Abstract:
In this talk, we will consider whether it is enough to present mathematics as a useful tool for our students or if something more is needed to inspire future generations. To do so, we will take a look at a pedagogical material based on the logarithmic spiral or Spira Mirabilis. These spirals, used as a measuring instrument, will allow us to perform mathematical operations, verify the proportions of objects around us, and even solve some unsolvable problems!
