Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer Prize Talk

At 3 PM on Thursday, April 19, a talk about the Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer 2018 Prize will be held at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Barcelona.

The Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer Prize, offered by the foundation bearing his name, awards an expository mathematical monograph that presents the latest developments in an active research area to which the contestant has made significant contributions.

The prize endowment, provided by the Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer Foundation, is fifteen thousand euros (€15,000). The winning monograph will be published in the “Progress in Mathematics” series by Birkhäuser, under the usual copyright and authorship conditions of this series. This year 2018, the prize has been awarded to professors Michael Ruzhansky (Imperial College London) and Durvudkhan Suragan (Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan) for the book Hardy inequalities on homogeneous groups (100 years of Hardy inequalities).

On April 19 at 3 PM, Professor Michael Ruzhansky (Imperial College London) will give a talk about the essay in room T2 (third floor; rooftop) of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Barcelona.
