The young winners of the’Catalan Mathematical Olympiad, organized by the SCM through the olympiad committee, which took place on December 13 and 14, 2024, are now known.
This is an individual problem-solving competition for pre-university youth. The classified young people participate in the Spanish Mathematical Olympiad, which qualifies for the International Mathematical Olympiad.
The jury met on December 16 and agreed that the winners of the Catalan phase and those selected for the Spanish phase are the following people:
- Guillem Vizcarro Sánchez del Valle (1st year of Baccalaureate, Institut Ernest Lluch)
- Vera Morancho Bargas (1st year of Baccalaureate, Aula Escola Europea, Barcelona)
- Daniel Carpenter (4th year of ESO, Institut Escola Costa i Llobera, Barcelona)
- Ot Santacreu Serra (1st year of Baccalaureate, INS Pius Font i Quer, Manresa)
- Eulàlia Gaya Bretones (2nd year of Baccalaureate, Aula Escola Europea, Barcelona)
- Andrei Vasilev (1st year of Baccalaureate, Aula Escola Europea, Alella)
- Vahe Arsenyan Kobalyan (4th year of ESO, Col·legi Sant Lluís, Barcelona)
- Xavier Ortiz Quintana (1st year of Baccalaureate, Institut Montserrat Roig, Castellví de Rosanes)
- Dina Markhavskoya (2nd year of Baccalaureate, Escola Pérez Iborra, Barcelona).
The jury was composed of:
- Xavier Ros Otón, ICREA Professor at the University of Barcelona and former olympian.
- Jordi Castellví, professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
- Carla Oliver, secondary school teacher at the Institut Escola Mirades.
