First instructions
• The date of Cangur 2024 will be March 21, the third Thursday of March, an international date.
• The management for Cangur 2024 will be organized into four «subcangurs», as was done in 2023.

◦ 3rd and 4th ESO subcangur
◦ high school and vocational training subcangur
The first three subcangurs will follow the same instructions as for Cangur 2023, with the deadlines and fees announced below.
Regarding the «seniors» subcangur, there is a substantial change in the procedure, which is detailed below.
• Fees have been increased to give more value to the set of materials offered and, additionally, to adapt income to expenses, which was necessary after the pandemic year and the following years.

• Center registration: Deadline from January 8 to 30, 2024.
◦ The registration will require approval of the operating rules/official Cangur call, which will detail these basic instructions and must have been published in sufficient time for review. It will be necessary to attach: the payment receipt for the center fee indicated below, and the name of one or two teachers from the center who will serve as contacts for all communications.
◦ Center registration fee. €15 per subcangur. That is, for these three subcangurs, the center registration fee will be €15, €30, or €45.
▪ Centers that are SCM members as an entity will be exempt from paying the center registration fee.
▪ Immediately after attaching the receipt, the invoice/receipt can be downloaded.
◦ It will be essential to respect the registration deadline. In Cangur 2023, a high percentage of centers requested registration after the deadline, which disrupted some aspects of the organization, particularly the data recording company's workload forecast.
▪ It will be strongly emphasized that you do not make payments before the registration deadline and that you make a single payment that exactly matches the total center registration fee for one, two, or three of these subcangurs.
• Preparation of materials and conduct of the test. On the morning of March 19, the contact teachers will be able to download the PDFs with the official statements for each level and the answer sheets prepared for optical reading. They must print them and thus organize the conduct of the test for March 21 following the instructions they will have received. A list of participating students and the identification code assigned to them must be prepared.
• Actions after the Cangur 2024 test competition
◦ Careful sorting and review of the answer sheets (especially ensuring that the course and, if applicable, the test model, and the code identifying each participant are indicated) and preparing the package to be taken to the CRP to which the center is assigned. The deadline will cover the last day of class before Easter week, and Tuesday and exceptionally Wednesday after Easter week.
◦ Payment of the participation fee: €1/participant with the answer sheet sent for evaluation. Note, therefore, that as in recent years, there will be two payments.
◦ Scores can be consulted as soon as possible, but this year the schedule makes it very difficult for this to happen before Sant Jordi. Regardless, we remind centers that they are committed to informing all students from their center who participated in the competition of their scores.
◦ Centers can print participation certificates and, as done this year, later classification certificates for the top 61% of scores.
General instructions for the high school and vocational training Cangur
• At the time of registration, the center will be asked whether it chooses to conduct the competition, also for these levels, at its own center or to participate in the Cangur competition at an external venue, including in this case centers that offer themselves as venues to host students from other centers. .
• This option, which will be indicated as the first element of registration, will be binding and will make the procedure different depending on the option chosen.
• The registration deadline will be from January 8 to 30, 2024.
• Centers that choose to conduct the test-competition for the seniors subcangur (high school and vocational training) at their own center will follow exactly the same instructions already given for the other subcangurs, specifically the payment of the €15 center fee with registration, the preparation of copies of statements and answer sheets, and the participation fee after the test, based on the number of participating students, at €1/participant.
• Centers that choose to access an external venue must indicate at the time of registration the number of students they wish to register for the test-competition and attach the receipt of a payment of €3 per participant.
◦ In this case, all printed material of statements and answer sheets will be received from the organization.
◦ Centers that are SCM members as an entity and centers that offer themselves as venues to host students from other centers will receive a discount equivalent to the payment of the center registration fee in the other registration option.
◦ Immediately after attaching the receipt, the invoice/receipt can be downloaded.
◦ The deadline for consulting scores will be the same as in the other options.
• These general instructions will be completed with all technical details that will be published in due course on the Cangur Gestió.
