Prizes

Albert Dou Prize

The prize Albert Dou (1915-2009) in mathematical outreach was established by the Catalan Society of Mathematics in 2010. The call for submissions is published biennially in even years, within the framework of the IEC's Sant Jordi Awards.

Offered to the author of a work that contributes to making visible the importance of mathematics in our world, to transmitting mathematical knowledge to a broader audience beyond specialists, and to promoting the extension of mathematics' prestige in our society.

Works must be written in Catalan, with a maximum of forty pages, and must have been published or completed in the two calendar years prior to the Sant Jordi Awards.

The prize endowment is two thousand five hundred euros (€2,500). The winning work will be submitted for publication in the Bulletin of the Catalan Society of Mathematics. The prize jury will be appointed by the board of the Catalan Society of Mathematics and will consist of five members of the society.
