Barcelona Mathematical Days 2026

Catalan Society of Mathematics

The fifth edition of the Barcelona Mathematical Days (BMD 2026), the international research congress that the Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM) organises every three years, will take place from 7 to 9 October 2026.

The meeting will be held at the headquarters of the Institute of Catalan Studies, in Barcelona, and will bring together researchers from different areas of mathematics with the aim of presenting recent results, encouraging the exchange of ideas and fostering new scientific collaborations.

The scientific programme includes four plenary lectures, given by Marco Abate (University of Pisa), Ruth Charney (Brandeis University), Dan Crisan (Imperial College London) and Xavier Ros-Oton (University of Barcelona).

The Barcelona Mathematical Days 2026 will also feature eight thematic sessions devoted to different areas of mathematical research: combinatorics and interactions, dynamical systems, geometric and algorithmic aspects of groups, interactions between analysis, probability and partial differential equations, mathematical modelling, arithmetic geometry, stochastic analysis and topological data analysis.

The programme is completed with special sessions, a poster session, activities aimed at early-career researchers and a round table on the current challenges and trends in mathematical research.

Registration is open until 30 September 2026.

Dates: from 7 to 9 October 2026.
