The Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM), the Catalan Society of Statistics (SoCE), and the Catalan Association of Artificial Intelligence (ACIA) jointly organize this year the fourth edition of the Conference “The Role of Data”, dedicated to the world of artificial intelligence, and titled “The Role of Data in Artificial Intelligence.” This is a highly topical subject following the social impact of new tools such as artificial conversation and text generators like ChatGPT.

The series of conferences «The Role of Data» highlights the value of data and its impact across all fields of knowledge, both in the physical and natural sciences and in the humanities. Previous editions have been dedicated to the business world (2019), the biomedical field (2021), and the world of politics and communication (2022).
The holding of these conferences responds to the desire of the three societies to collaborate in promoting and disseminating data analysis as a useful tool in the service of Catalan society and all its scientific, technological, business, and social sectors.
The conference will take place in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics (FME) at UPC, on November 17, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with four lectures given by top-level specialists.
