Crazy about Mathematics 2027 will hold its pre-selection test on Saturday 25 October at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). This test is part of the selection process for the Mathematics course of the Bojos per la Ciència programme, promoted by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera.
The written test will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Participants are expected to arrive at 9.45 a.m. at the Faculty of Sciences of the UAB.
Selection process for Bojos per les Matemàtiques 2027
To take part in the selection process, you must have previously registered for the Bojos per la Ciència programme.
The pre-selection test for Bojos per les Matemàtiques 2027 will be used to select the students who will continue in the admission process for the programme. According to the information published by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera, the pre-selection will be carried out through an in-person written test.
Once the test has finished, the day will continue at the Centre de Recerca Matemàtica (CRM). Arrival at the centre is scheduled for 12.15 p.m. and, at 12.30 p.m., a refreshment will be offered to participants.
Later, at 1 p.m., the outreach talk «Matemàtiques que flueixen» will take place, given by Marc Calvo.
About Bojos per les Matemàtiques
Bojos per les Matemàtiques is part of Bojos per la Ciència, a programme of the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera aimed at high school students interested in science and research.
The Mathematics course allows participants to delve deeper into different areas of this discipline and come into contact with researchers and professionals from the academic field.
Throughout the programme, different fields of mathematics are covered, with sessions dedicated to areas such as number theory, discrete mathematics, combinatorics, dynamical systems, statistics, logic, geometry or topology, among others.
The programme runs over several months and the sessions take place at universities and research centres. In this way, participants can get to know different areas of mathematics up close and gain an understanding of how current research works.
