More than a hundred students participate in the LXII Catalan Mathematical Olympiad held in Barcelona, Lleida, and Tarragona

The LXII Catalan Mathematical Olympiad was held on 12 and 13 December with the participation of more than a hundred students from educational centers across Catalonia. The tests were conducted in person at various university venues in the territory.

Most participants took the tests at the Barcelona, located at the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics (FME) of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, while a group of students also participated from the University of Lleida (UdL) and the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), in Tarragona. The organization wishes to thank the universities for the provision of spaces and hospitality, as well as their collaboration in the preparation sessions.

The tests, structured into two sessions —Friday afternoon and Saturday morning—, tested the reasoning ability, creativity, and mathematical problem-solving skills of the participants. The Olympiad is aimed at students up to the 2nd year of high school and aims to foster interest in mathematics and detect young talent.
