V SCM IDM Conference – International Day of Mathematics 2025

The Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM) organizes the fifth edition of the SCM IDM Conference to commemorate International Mathematics Day 2025. This event will bring together students, teachers, researchers, and anyone interested in mathematics for a day of outreach and learning.
This year, the global theme of International Mathematics Day is “Mathematics, Art and Creativity”, a motto that highlights the interaction between mathematical logic and artistic expression. Through lectures, workshops, and interactive activities, participants will be able to explore the connections between mathematics and different creative disciplines.
History of the conference
Previous editions of this conference have been held in different formats and locations:
- The first two editions were held online.
- The third edition took place at the Igualada campus of the University of Lleida (UdL).
- The fourth edition took place at the Bellaterra campus of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
- In 2025, the conference moves to the Institute of Catalan Studies (IEC) in Barcelona.
Who is it aimed at?
This conference is especially designed for secondary and high school students, mathematics teachers, researchers, and anyone interested in this discipline. Additionally, students from the “Crazy about Mathematics” program from 2025 and previous editions will participate.
How to participate in the 5th SCM IDM Conference 2025
Registration for the conference will be free and will be done through an online form. Please note that places for the workshop are limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
