Results of the 60th Catalan Mathematical Olympiad

The young winners of the Catalan Mathematical Olympiad, organized by the SCM through the olympiad committee, which took place on December 15 and 16, 2023, are now known.

This is an individual problem-solving competition for pre-university youth. The classified young people participate in the Spanish Mathematical Olympiad, which qualifies for the International Mathematical Olympiad.

In this edition, about a hundred boys and girls from all over Catalonia participated, who faced the challenge of solving 6 problems over two sessions. The test was held simultaneously in Barcelona (FME, Polytechnic University of Catalonia), Lleida (EPS, University of Lleida), and Tarragona (Rovira i Virgili University).

We congratulate the winning boys and girls of this 60th edition, according to the following positions:

  • Anna de Mier Vinué, professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and former olympian
  • Miquel Ortega Sánchez-Colomer, doctoral student and former olympian.

We thank the jury and the Olympiad committee of the Catalan Society of Mathematics for their dedication.
We also want to thank the work done in the preparation sessions organized by Catalan universities.

We encourage the boys and girls to continue enjoying and learning through problem-solving.

In particular,we encourage girls to register for the Catalan Women's Mathematical Olympiad days, OMCaF, which will take place on January 20, 2024.
