Meeting of the Council of the European Mathematical Society
The Assembly (Council) of the EMS has elected the new leadership team for the next 4 years.
The new EMS team will be led by Volker Mehrmann (Germany) as president and Betül Tanbay (Turkey) as vice president. The secretary Sjoerd Verduyn Lunel (Netherlands) and the treasurer Mats Gyllenberg (Finland) continue. There was only one candidate for each position. Volker Mehrmann was the chair of ECM2016 in Berlin.
Subsequently, the assembly elected Jorge Buescu (Portugal) as a member of the EMS «in-large» committee.
Both votes were taken at the EMS assembly held in Prague on the weekend of June 23-24, 2018. The SCM was represented by Enric Ventura and Xavier Jarque.
