Professor Marta Sanz-Solé, chair professor of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Barcelona, has recently been elected as a full member of the IEC. On Monday, May 14, 2018, she will give a lecture titled Indeterminism in computation and mathematical modeling as a presentation speech to the Section of Science and Technology of the IEC. Professor Marta Sanz-Solé has held various institutional leadership roles within the scientific community, notably the presidency of the European Mathematical Society (EMS) and the Abel Committee.
