Meeting of the General Council of the EMS in Prague, June 23-24, 2018 (more information here).
The highest governing body of the European Mathematical Society is its Council. It meets every two years; once coinciding with the European Congress of Mathematics and the other between congresses. The next European Congress of Mathematics will be in 2020 in Portoroz (Slovenia), and therefore the Prague council meeting is the assembly between the last European Congress of Mathematics in Berlin and the next one in Portoroz. In these meetings, the general policies of the EMS are decided and its representatives are elected. In particular, this year 2018, the new President (currently Pavel Exner) and the new Vice President (currently Volker Mehrmann) will be elected.
