The association Le Kangourou sans frontières, which promotes the Kangaroo test internationally, has set the celebration date for the third Thursday of March, which next year is March 21, which is the Thursday just before Easter Week.
The Kangaroo Committee has conducted a series of consultations regarding this date and has noted that it could pose inconveniences for some centers, for which it will be difficult to fit into the general activity schedule. We have also received opinions that it is very valuable to respect the international date, and others stating that, since the programming for the 23-24 academic year is not yet fully detailed, it would be perfectly feasible to include the Kangaroo.
The preparation work for the Kangaroo is intense. The nations that make up Le Kangourou sans frontières are already compiling lists of problems that are analyzed in great detail by the teams that will attend the plenary meeting, which this year will be held in the fall in Ohrid (North Macedonia). During this meeting, at the end of the working sessions that last three days, the proposals for the Kangaroo 2024 statements will be developed. Holding the Kangaroo on the international date, as is attempted each year, makes it possible to use this material in its entirety. This has been considered a fundamental aspect.
For all these reasons, the SCM, at the proposal of the Kangaroo Committee, calls the Kangaroo2024 test in Catalonia on Thursday, March 21, as it will be in many nations, and in particular we hope that this year we will coincide with the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community (pending a firm decision).
All instructions and the official call, with the competition's operating rules, will be made public at the start of the 23-24 academic year. We can anticipate that every facility will be provided so that, after the mandatory and careful review by each center, the submission of answer sheets will not cause any disruption.
