On the occasion of the International Day of Mathematics, the Catalan Society of Mathematics and’Barcelona City Council organize an institutional event that will bring together representatives of the mathematical, university, and institutional community.
This celebration is part of the international activities taking place around the March 14, an initiative promoted by the UNESCO and the International Mathematical Union to highlight the role of mathematics in science, technology, and society.
In recent editions, the event has been held in institutional spaces of the city: the years 2024 and 2025 at the Hall of the Hundred of the’Barcelona City Council, and the year 2023 at Prat de la Riba Hall of the’Institute for Catalan Studies.
The edition of 2026 will take place at the Hall of Chronicles of the Barcelona City Hall and will feature the participation of a councilor from the city council, pending confirmation. The event usually brings together rectors, deans, department heads, and representatives of entities in the mathematical field.
