The SCM organizes activities in the form of congresses to promote and support research in mathematics, and to enhance the visibility and internationalization of the Catalan mathematical community.

The most notable activities are the following:

Barcelona Mathematical Days (BMD), the triennial international congress on mathematical research, which focuses on current research topics in various areas of mathematics. It was launched in 2014 and has been held regularly since then.

Joint meetings with other scientific societies, to strengthen scientific and institutional ties and foster scientific collaboration with the research community of other countries. The scientific societies with which collaboration has taken place are:

  • Real Sociedad Matemática Española
  • Slovak Mathematical Society
