On October 4, the awards ceremony for young researchers in mathematics took place.<\/p>\n

\r\n\r\nJOS\u00c9 LUIS RUBIO DE FRANCIA AWARD\r\n\r\n<\/strong>Xavier Fern\u00e1ndez-Real <\/strong>has been awarded the Jos\u00e9 Luis Rubio de Francia Award <\/strong>in recognition of his profound contributions to problems in the theory of elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs). Xavier Fern\u00e1ndez-Real, currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Mathematics of the \u00c9cole Polytechnique F\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne (Switzerland),<\/span> is  a graduate in Mathematics and Engineering Physics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia,<\/strong> and holds a PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH).<\/span><\/pre>\n

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nVICENT CASELLES AWARDS<\/strong> <\/span><\/pre>\n
Six young scientists who have driven advances in mathematical research have been recognized in the ninth edition of the Vicent Caselles Awards<\/strong> awards granted annually by the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (RSME)<\/strong> and the BBVA Foundation<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nAmong the awardees in this edition, we wish to highlight those who have been associated with universities linked to the SCM\r\n<\/span><\/pre>\n
Robert Cardona Aguilar<\/strong>, a Margarita Salas postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (ICMAT) and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). Graduate and PhD in Mathematics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.<\/strong> He subsequently conducted a research stay at the University of Strasbourg (France). He has worked on geometric methods in dynamical systems, particularly in fluids and Hamiltonian dynamics, as well as their relationship with contact and symplectic topology.\r\n\"\"\r\nClaudia Garc\u00eda L\u00f3pez<\/strong>, assistant professor at the University of Granada. Graduate in Mathematics from the University of Granada, and PhD from the University of Rennes (France) and the University of Granada, she completed a postdoctoral stay at the Universitat de Barcelona<\/strong>. Her research focuses on the study of equations and models derived from geophysics and fluid dynamics.\r\n\"\"\r\n<\/span>\r\n\u00d3scar Rivero Salgado<\/strong>, assistant professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela. Graduate in Mathematics and Engineering Physics, and PhD from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia<\/strong>. His research has been developed in number theory, specifically in the application of Euler systems to Iwasawa theory and Selmer groups.\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nMar\u00eda Soria Carro<\/strong>, Hill Assistant Professor at Rutgers University (New Jersey, United States). Graduate in Mathematics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona,<\/strong> she completed her doctoral thesis at the University of Texas at Austin (United States). Her work deals with the theory of fine regularity for fully nonlinear elliptic differential equations, both in transmission problems and nonlocal Monge-Amp\u00e8re problems.<\/span><\/pre>\n
\"\"<\/span>\r\nRoberto Gim\u00e9nez Conejero<\/strong>, postdoctoral researcher at the Alfr\u00e9d R\u00e9nyi Institute of Mathematics (Hungary). Graduate and PhD in Mathematics from the University of Valencia<\/strong>. His field of work is complex singularity theory, and he has studied stability under deformations and equisingularity problems. \r\n\r\n\r\nAs the Catalan Society of Mathematics, we are proud of the talented young people who have grown with the support, at the undergraduate, doctoral, or postdoctoral level, of research faculty from our universities.<\/span><\/pre>\n
