We will celebrate the opening of the 2023-24 academic year of the SCM on Thursday, 21 September, with the inaugural lecture:<\/p>\n
The talk will be given by Juanjo Ru\u00e9, who won the SCM Albert Dou Prize for mathematical outreach in the call for the Sant Jordi Awards of the IEC 2023<\/a>, with a work that bore this same title. Juanjo Ru\u00e9<\/a> He is a professor at the UPC<\/a>, affiliated with the CRM<\/a>; he has written books<\/a> and has given talks on mathematical outreach.<\/p>\n On the same day, there will be a meeting with representatives of mathematical entities and associations to share topics of interest and proposals to address them.<\/p>\n Summary of the talk:<\/strong><\/p>\n Currently, graph theory plays a fundamental role both in pure mathematics and in its applications in many branches of knowledge.
