After the Catalan Mathematical Olympiad, held last December, the nine prize-winners took part on the 10th and 11th of this month in Le\u00f3n in the 59th Spanish Mathematical Olympiad, organised by the RSME.<\/p>\n

The Catalans obtained 6 medals there:<\/p>\n

  • Roger Lid\u00f3n Ardanuy (Ins Jaume Vicens Vives, Girona, 2nd year of baccalaureate)<\/li>\n
  • Ruben Carpenter (Aula Escola Europea, Barcelona, 2nd year of baccalaureate)<\/li>\n
  • Jordi Ferr\u00e9 Garc\u00eda (Aula Escola Europea, Barcelona, 2nd year of baccalaureate)<\/li>\n
  • Xavier D\u00edaz Austrich (Ins Jaume Vicens Vives, Girona, 2nd year of high school)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    Silver medal:<\/strong><\/h6>\n

    • Timothy Skipper (Institut Mediterr\u00e0nea, Castelldefels, 2nd year of high school)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      Bronze medal<\/strong>:<\/h6>\n

      • Al\u00e8xia Escudero Rib\u00f3 (Institut Hug Roger III, Sort, 2nd year of high school)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        Remarks<\/h6>\n

        • The Catalan contestants who won gold medals placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th, respectively.<\/li>\n
        • Roger Lid\u00f3n and Ruben Carpenter have won a gold medal at the Spanish Olympiad for the third year running. Jordi Ferr\u00e9 also won a gold medal in 2022. All three were selected to take part in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).<\/li>\n
        • Al\u00e8xia Escudero also won a medal in 2022.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          In accordance with the results in Le\u00f3n, the team that will take part in the 64th International Mathematical Olympiad, which will be held in Chiba (Japan) next July, will consist of four students from Catalonia and two from the Valencian Country:<\/p>\n

          Jordi Ferr\u00e9 Garc\u00eda (Catalonia),
          Guillem Beltran Cerezuela (Valencian Country),
