The program Estalmat Catalunya<\/strong> continues its territorial tour and this Saturday March 7, 2026<\/strong> will make a stop in Girona with a day of mathematical activities at\u2019INS Montilivi<\/strong>. The initiative aims to bring the program for detecting and stimulating mathematical talent to different parts of the territory and strengthen the bond with students, families, and the educational community.<\/p>\n

The day is organized by Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM)<\/strong>, FEEMCAT<\/strong> i ACFAEC<\/strong>, in collaboration with the\u2019Institute for Catalan Studies<\/strong>, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT)<\/strong>, Ademgi<\/strong> and the same educational center hosting the activities.<\/p>\n

Sessions for students<\/h3>\n

Between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM<\/strong> the sessions of the groups will take place simultaneously Estalmat 1<\/strong>, Estalmat 2<\/strong> i Estalmat Pi<\/strong>, with specific mathematical enrichment activities aimed at students who are part of the program. The sessions are based on problem-solving, logical reasoning, and mathematical creativity, central elements of the Estalmat methodology.<\/p>\n

At the same time, from 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM<\/strong>, a session will be offered pre-Estalmat<\/strong> aimed at students in 6th grade of primary and 1st year of ESO<\/strong>. This activity is designed as a first approach to the program and allows participants to experience the type of mathematical challenges worked on. Participation requires prior registration via form<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Space for families<\/h3>\n

The day also includes a specific space for families. From 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM<\/strong>, there will be a talk by\u2019Anton Aubanell<\/strong>, a mathematics teacher and renowned popularizer, who will reflect on supporting scientific talent and the role the family environment can play in developing mathematical vocations.<\/p>\n

During this time, information will also be presented about the activities promoted by FEEMCAT<\/strong> and the Catalan Society of Mathematics<\/strong>, with the aim of making known the different initiatives to promote mathematics in Catalonia.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, activities will continue with proposals aimed at families of Estalmat students<\/strong>, in collaboration with Casio<\/strong>, which will participate in the dynamization of the session.<\/p>\n

A program to stimulate mathematical talent<\/h3>\n

The project Estalmat (Stimulation of Mathematical Talent)<\/strong> is an educational enrichment program aimed at students with a special interest and ability in mathematics. The project offers training activities over two academic years<\/strong>, based on problem-solving, creative thinking, and collaborative work.<\/p>\n

In Catalonia, the program is promoted by Catalan Society of Mathematics<\/strong> i FEEMCAT<\/strong>, and is part of a state network promoted by the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With this stop in Girona, Estalmat Catalunya reinforces its desire to open the program to the territory and bring mathematics closer to new educational centers<\/strong>, fostering the development of scientific talent among young people and also involving their families in the educational process.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
