{"id":18938,"date":"2025-09-09T06:19:44","date_gmt":"2025-09-09T04:19:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scm.iec.cat\/?p=18938"},"modified":"2026-08-10T00:23:43","modified_gmt":"2026-08-09T22:23:43","slug":"premi-maria-antonia-canals-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scm.iec.cat\/eng\/premi-maria-antonia-canals-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Maria Ant\u00f2nia Canals Award 2025: recognition of innovation in mathematics teaching"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Catalan-speaking societies of mathematics teachers and professors \u2014<strong data-start=\"397\" data-end=\"444\">FEEMCAT, SBM-Xeix, SEMCV Al-Khwarizmi, and SCM<\/strong>\u2014 have announced the verdict of the <strong data-start=\"478\" data-end=\"513\">Maria Ant\u00f2nia Canals 2025 Award<\/strong>, an award that aims to keep alive the legacy of this teacher and reference in mathematics didactics, and to distinguish projects that bring creativity, innovation, and quality to learning.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"718\" data-end=\"751\"><strong>Winners of the 2025 edition<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"753\" data-end=\"838\">The jury, meeting remotely on September 1, 2025, has awarded the following prizes.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"1437\">\n<li data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"1025\">\n<p data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"1025\"><strong>Compulsory Secondary Education Category<br \/>\nPrize awarded to Eva \u00c0lvarez Vilar\u00f3 <\/strong>\u00a0for the work <em data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"888\">\u201cFlowers\u201d<\/em> , an experience that combines sensitivity and mathematics.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1221\">\n<p data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1221\"><strong data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1043\">University Category<br \/>\n<\/strong><span data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1082\"><strong>Prize awarded to<\/strong> <\/span>\u00a0<strong data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1134\">Rosa Camps, Nat\u00e0lia Castellana, and Xavier Mora<\/strong>, for the <em data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1082\">Mathematical Modeling Workshop\u201d<\/em> of a proposal that brings students closer to research and advanced mathematical thinking.<br \/>\n<strong data-start=\"1224\" data-end=\"1257\">Special mention for Eul\u00e0lia Tramuns i Figueras<\/strong>, for the work <em data-start=\"1259\" data-end=\"1348\">\u201cOrigami and computational thinking: dividing a square into 2^n parts with minimal folds\u201d<\/em>, which unites creativity, origami, and mathematical rigor.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1486\"><strong>An award to honor Maria Ant\u00f2nia Canals<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1810\">The award is named after <strong data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1549\">Maria Ant\u00f2nia Canals (1930\u20132022)<\/strong>, a key figure in mathematics didactics in Catalonia. Canals always defended an active, creative teaching approach at the service of students, and the award aims to pay tribute to her career and educational impact.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1812\" data-end=\"1826\"><strong>The jury<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1828\" data-end=\"1881\">The verdict has been issued by a jury composed of:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1882\" data-end=\"2168\">\n<li data-start=\"1882\" data-end=\"1957\">\n<p data-start=\"1884\" data-end=\"1957\"><strong data-start=\"1884\" data-end=\"1910\">Pedro Bibiloni Serrano<\/strong> i <strong data-start=\"1913\" data-end=\"1944\">Isabel Maria Hidalgo Rangel<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/sbmxeix?lang=ca\">SBM-Xeix)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1958\" data-end=\"2032\">\n<p data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"2032\"><strong data-start=\"1960\" data-end=\"1980\">Llu\u00eds Bonet Juan<\/strong> i <strong data-start=\"1983\" data-end=\"2009\">Ana Isabel Roig Albiol<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.semcv.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\">SEMCV Al-Khwarizmi<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2033\" data-end=\"2095\">\n<p data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2095\"><strong data-start=\"2035\" data-end=\"2063\">Montserrat Alsina Aubach<\/strong> (SCM, with voice but without vote).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2096\" data-end=\"2168\">\n<p data-start=\"2098\" data-end=\"2168\"><strong data-start=\"2098\" data-end=\"2121\">Montse Molin\u00e9 Brull<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/feemcat.org\/\" rel=\"noopener\">FEEMCAT<\/a>, secretary with voice but without vote).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"2170\" data-end=\"2193\"><strong>Innovation and future<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2195\" data-end=\"2530\">The <strong data-start=\"2198\" data-end=\"2233\">Maria Ant\u00f2nia Canals 2025 Award<\/strong> highlights the value of mathematics and the importance of its teaching.
