The National Theatre of Catalonia has hosted the delivery of the 2024 National Research Awards<\/strong>, organized by the Government of Catalonia and the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI). The Minister of Research and Universities, N\u00faria Montserrat<\/strong>, presented the awards to the winning individuals and institutions.<\/p>\n

            Institutional Statements<\/h3>\n

            President Salvador Illa<\/strong> highlighted the importance of research as a driver of progress and stated that \u201cCatalonia will always stand by science.\u201d The minister N\u00faria Montserrat<\/strong> reaffirmed the commitment to position Catalonia among the 50 most innovative regions in Europe and announced that the National Scientific Communication Award will henceforth bear the name of Joan Guinovart<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

            Mathematical Research in the Spotlight<\/h2>\n

            The distinction for Xavier Ros\u2011Oton<\/strong> represents a top-level recognition for mathematical research conducted in Catalonia. Ros\u2011Oton, a prominent researcher in the field of partial differential equations, has been the first mathematician to receive this award, highlighting the vitality and international relevance of our field.<\/p>\n

            In his reflections, he highlighted his participation in the Kangaroo and Olympiads as one of the main motivations for becoming interested in and dedicating himself to mathematics.<\/p>\n

            From the Catalan Society of Mathematics<\/strong>, we celebrate this recognition as a collective milestone and an incentive to continue promoting young talent, excellence in research, and mathematical vocations. Catalan mathematical research is advancing strongly. <\/strong><\/p>\n
