Last\u00a0March 20, 2025<\/strong>, the city of\u00a0Manresa<\/strong>\u00a0was a great success with the\u00a0Kangaroo Tests 2025 Manresa<\/strong>, within the framework of the 30th edition of this international mathematics competition. The event, organized by the\u00a0Catalan Society of Mathematics (SCM)<\/strong>, was held at the facilities of the\u00a0Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Manresa<\/strong>, where\u00a0more than 200 first and second year high school students<\/strong>\u00a0put their problem-solving skills to the test.<\/p>\n

Registrations for the School of History of Mathematics 2025 are now open\u00a0Kangaroo Tests 2025 Manresa<\/strong>\u00a0are celebrating this year\u00a025 years of continuous presence on the Manresa campus<\/strong>, making it one of the pioneering university venues for this event. During the test, students had\u2019one hour and fifteen minutes<\/strong>\u00a0to solve about thirty mathematical challenges of progressive difficulty, with a scoring system that rewarded correct answers and penalized errors, thus encouraging critical thinking and precision.<\/p>\n

    At the Catalan level, nearly\u00a0110,000 students<\/strong>\u00a0participated in this edition of the Kangaroo Tests, which are held every year on\u00a0third Thursday of March<\/strong>. The objective is twofold: to foster interest in mathematics and to promote STEM vocations (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) among young people.<\/p>\n

    The president of the SCM, from Manresa\u00a0Montserrat Alsina<\/strong>, highlighted the commitment of teachers and the need to continue providing them with resources to keep motivating students. In her words, \u201cwithout motivated teachers, there is no future for scientific vocations.\u201d.<\/p>\n

    On a global scale, the\u00a0Kangaroo Tests<\/strong>\u00a0bring together more than\u00a0six million students<\/strong>, with problems developed at international meetings; this year, the statements were designed in\u00a0Brazil<\/strong>, ensuring a global and enriching approach.<\/p>\n
